Adrenal fatigue – An introduction
Mar 24th, 2010
Adrenal fatigue is a non fatal but chronic condition in which the person experiences a strange kind of physical fatigue that goes beyond normal tiredness. This fatigue seems to extend to the cells, often resulting in premature aging and even a change of appearance. Other common signs of adrenal fatigue are poor sleep with frequent insomnia, poor digestion and metabolism, and dry, listless skin, poor mental acuity, and depression.
The causes of adrenal fatigue seem to be linked with excessive and prolonged stress, which in turn causes the adrenal glands to weaken and not function properly. The hormone which regulates stress, or cortisol, is reduced, and this is what causes the fatigue that adrenal fatigue sufferers feel.
Currently, there is no established cure for adrenal fatigue but there are two adrenal fatigue supplements you can try. Also, Siberian ginseng and astragalus may be tried as well. The healing period requires a lot of rest and may stretch for many months or even years, depending on the severity.
