When it comes to our teeth, of course we want to keep them clean and take care of them as much as possible. One of the signs associated with growing older is losing our teeth, and none of us look forward to that. The truth is, though, that gum disease can attack at any age, and ultimately will cause our teeth to fall out if it goes untreated.
A gum disease manifests itself with inflamed gums, bleeding after brushing, swollen tissue, and a receding gum line. The infection that causes gum disease actually attacks the bones that support our teeth. Those bones start breaking down, and soon, the teeth supported by those bones will fall out.
If your dentist sees that you have gum disease, he’ll refer you to a periodontist who can treat your condition. The periodontist will provide options for treatment, including specific hygiene directions for you to follow, and surgical options if your gum disease has reached the point where surgery is required to resolve it.

In many family, chipped teeth are something to be avoided at all costs.
In my family, however, they were more like a rite of passage. All of my siblings had chipped front teeth and I had them too.
The worst were the chipped front teeth.
As a result, chipped teeth dental visits were not infrequent in my childhood.
After the first few times it happens, the only thing I really disliked about fixing chipped teeth with having to go to the dentist.

Another type that is even less expensive involves the use of a liquid. This is purchased in a small container complete with a brush for application. Lorraine, who is living in Monaco, wanted porcelain veneers to straighten and whiten her teeth – but did not look forward to the grinding of her natural teeth. She considered Lumineers which is porcelain veneers that require almost no grinding.
She was however wary of porcelain veneers that look fake and was even advised by her dentist in Monaco to avoid porcelain veneers because they could easily look unnatural.
She was however determined to find a solution to her crooked smile. During her search she came across Dr. Sam Muslin’s website and decided to fly to Santa Monica to consult with him.
Dr. Muslin showed her the results from several of his other patients and she discovered that both porcelain veneers and the concept of instant braces were indeed a reality. She decided to have it done!
Dr. Muslin did an examination and advised her to first get her gums totally healthy and then go through a teeth whitening procedure.
